~ Shell

We think of shells as something washed up on a beach to be collected or picked up and then discarded. Some shells have beautiful colours and patterns, especially on the inside which can be nacreous, which lends itself to jewellery. Other shells aren't from the sea at all; coconut has a harder shell beneath the fibrous cover, which is lovely when polished.
